About Me:

In April 2007 I ended up buying a SAAB 9000 CDE Turbo on a 1 day sale from ebay. I knew it was a gamble and I knew the clutch was failing but for £216 it was a risk I decided to take. I managed to get the car to Yeovil before the clutch gave up completely so had it trailered back to Southampton where I decided to strip the car for parts and sell them back on ebay to recover my money.

In the meantime I brought another 9000, a CSE this time and drove it about for a few weeks. So impressed was I with the comfort and finesse of this car that I decided to break this one instead to fund the clutch replacement on the much more powerful Turbo.

So over the course of a weekend I had to drive to Heathrow to collect the new clutch kit then set about removing the gearbox and fitting the new clutch kit. With the job done and the car running I began getting used to driving a big heavy car that was more than capable of out running most other cars from a set of lights and comfortable enough to drive around in all day long without ever feeling uncomfortable.

This (and the dismantling of the 9000 CSE) began my fascination with the SAAB Brand and particularly the 9000 range. So much so that as of writing this I have owned a total of 8! Many of them I have brought as they were destined for the scrapyard and have sold parts around Europe and into North America so that by breaking 1 car I get to keep countless others from the crusher.

Currently I have a Silver 9000CS 2.3FPT that has now been thoroughly dismantled other than the running gear, engine and drivers seat. This car is still 'drivable' but would never pass an MOT due to the lack or part left attached to the car.

Next car in line will be a 9000 CDE (The Saloon version) that is due for delivery to my the first week of August.
